1845 STRONG ALE - FULLERS

Thought I'd try something different, outside of my comfort zone. I had a Fullers beer recently, bottle conditioned - Dry River Double-Hopped Ale and that was great. Saw this another bottle-conditioned beer and thought give it a go. Very little in the way of a head, blink and it was gone, a real dark brown, rusty red colour. Very strong aromas, dark roasted malt and burnt home-made fruitcake. Its billed as a Strong Ale, and you can taste the alcohol. Its actually quite balanced however, despite the powerful fruit and roasted malt tang, its actually quite a dry hopped finish, minimal bitterness. Not really my bag, and I probably wouldn't buy it again. But if you like this sort of thing you'll lap it up.
6.3% volume, matured for 100 days. First brewed in 1995 to commemorate  the 150th Anniversary of Fullers, and brewed to their original recipe.
