RED - BITTERSWEET RED ALE - HAWKSHEAD BREWERY
Only tried a few red beers, my favourite is Wolf Rock Red from Sharps, however this gives it a good run for its money. Smells very lively and fruity, wonderful reddy chestnut colour, and a decent off white head, Taste is rich fruit, raisins, sultanas and burnt caramel, and then evened out with the long bitter finish. I think bitterness is starting to appeal...Brewed in Staveley, Cumbria by Hawkshead brewery. 4.2% volume.
