KILL YOUR DARLINGS - VIENNA STYLE LAGER - THORNBRIDGE BREWERY

Myself and Andy exchanged beers, I swopped an Anarchy Imperial Lager (Red) 7% for this little number. Wasn't too sure what to expect, I have had a couple of different Thornbridge beers and they are very innovative and do a broad spectrum of different styles of beers. This is a Vienna Style Lager, not clear on what that is but its a nice big bottle! Reading the blurb I noticed its made with Tettnanager and Amarillo hops. That rang bells,  and I remember the Cyril the Magnificent beer I had from High House Farm last week or so used the same hops. Anyways, on pouring its a gorgeous reddy brown, off white lagery head. Smells of dark fruits and burnt caramel malt. Its not a million miles from Cyril - I believe Dunkel Weisse (Dark wheat beers) share similar characteristics and ingredients to Vienna Lagers so there you go. Really enjoying it, could certainly get used to it. There is a refreshing lager feel to it, but you have the fruity hops/burnt malt so prevalent. A rip roaring success. Nice one Andy. Brewed by Thornbridge Brewery, in Bakewell, Derbyshire. 5% volume.
