Cloudwater brewery - DIPA v5, v6 & v7

Cloudwater brewery

DIPA version 5, 6 & 7

DIPA means a double IPA. This was produced to when they first moved into their new brewery. I believe this was some time ago now. I've never tried these before. I bought a box set cloudwater beers recently and I thought I was just v6 & v7 and too my surprise I also got v5. They are all 9% beers.

First up DIPA v5

This is wonderfully. You don't realise that it's 9%. It has lovely flavours from the hops. It uses four different hops they are Citra, Amarillo, Simcoe & Mosaic. It's also dry hopped after fermentation. Would like more fruit flavours but that's my only criticism for this beer. Let's see how the next version  compares.

Next DIPA v6

So different which I did expect but not that much. So first of it 3 different hops they are Citra, Vic's Secretary & Chinock. They also put 20% dry hops added towards the end of fermentation and 40% 3 days into cooling and 40% 3 days before crash cooling.

This has a piney smell. I'm liking this but not as much as the last. I'm wondering if the Chinock hops are overpowering this. They are very strong type of hops. This beer was only bottled on the 04/08/2016 10 days ago. There is big demand for fresh beers and you don't any fresher than this.

Last beer DIPA v7

This brewed very similar to the last just using a different yeast and straight away tastes so different. This doesn't have the piney smell like the last. This one is the best of all three, however you can't compare this to v5 as they are made completely differently. As with the first you don't realise that's it's 9%. Liking this a lot. So glad got one more bottle of this.

I do have more cloudwater beers to try and based on these three I will have to  try more a very good brewery who seem to like brewing one offs.
