ABBOT RESERVE - GREENE KING

I liked Abbot Ale when I tried it a few months ago now. This leapt off the shelf at me in Tesco at Hexham. Didn't know they did a turbocharged version, well lets check you out. A stonking 6.5% volume, this is good. Its Abbot Ale brewed by Doctor Jekyll on a bad day. Its Abbot Ale turned up to 11 and the volume knob snapped off. Its very, very nice. Its the same deep rich colour, and the spice and malt are there in spades, only they've brought their mates. Brewed by Greene King in Bury St Edmunds.

  1. Terry I just realised this is the same strength as Old Crafty Hen, this can't be a million miles from that as its more or less same brewer Morland/Greene King - track one down and let me know what you think. Well worth it.

  2. Ian this is a beer I've never seen before. I not a big fan of abbot so probably wouldn't want to try it.
